New Era Cleantech was conceived as a gasification company from day one. But it was also conceived as a decarbonisation company. The two are inseparable in our design.
Every tonne of coal processed in our gasifiers produces CO₂. Our commitment is to ensure that the maximum possible proportion of that CO₂ is captured, utilised or permanently sequestered — rather than released into the atmosphere. This is not a compliance exercise. It is the reason the company exists.
Our CCUS pilot begins in Phase 1, alongside our first production units, creating the operational experience and infrastructure needed to scale CO₂ capture progressively across both project phases.
Chemical feedstock — CO₂ is a building block for a range of downstream chemicals, including methanol, which itself becomes DME and acetic acid in our Phase 2 product chain.
Construction aggregates — CO₂ mineralisation in construction materials, converting waste into structural products.
Basalt formations — permanent CO₂ mineralisation in subsurface basalt rock, leveraging India’s extensive Deccan Traps geology.
Saline aquifers — deep saline aquifer injection for long-term, verified CO₂ storage.
EOR (Enhanced Oil Recovery) — CO₂ injection into declining oil reservoirs to simultaneously increase recovery rates and sequester carbon.
ECBMR (Enhanced Coal Bed Methane Recovery) — CO₂ injected into unmineable coal seams to release methane while permanently storing the CO₂.
Over 1 million tonnes per year across Phase 1 and Phase 2 combined.
Unit eliminates sulphur dioxide (SO₂) emissions by converting H₂S into marketable elemental sulphur.
Minimising water consumption and eliminating process effluent.
(Nationally Determined Contribution) targets under the Paris Agreement.
